Photographic collection, 1900, 2008.

The collection consists of 123 scans of images from glass-plate negatives and from other, more modern, photographs, 1900-1960s, and a disc. Most of the images are of Alma (Mich.) streets, buildings, including Alma College, parades, people, sap gathering, bands, one is probably Alma College and the other may be the Scottville Clown Band, mills, churches, and the fire department.The collection is owned by Dale Kemler and was scanned by Dave McMacken in 2008. Mr. Kemler bought the collection at a sale. These images were probably taken by one or more local, unidentified photographers. Other images include the double-decker outhouse at Cedar Lake (Mich.), brickyard, kilns, and Yerington's College (the Academy) in St. Louis (Mich.), the post office in Elm Hall (Mich.), a gristmill in Blanchard (Mich.), Ojibwa Indians in Mount Pleasant (Mich.), and the Tulip Time Festival (Holland, Mich.).
